ARG actively seeks to recruit appropriately qualified and experienced overseas applicants for professional locomotive driving and trade-based roles.
As an overseas applicant, before deciding to express your interest in working for ARG, there are a number of factors you need to consider...
VISAS
To work in Australia, citizens of other countries (except New Zealand) must obtain an appropriate visa from the Australia Department of Immigration & Citizenship, entitling them to work on either a permanent or temporary basis.
ARG typically offers sponsorship to successful applicants and their families under the 457 Temporary Business Long Stay visa category for individuals with recognised qualifications and experience in particular occupations. Applicants still under a training program/scheme or yet to complete a qualification in their occupational category will not be eligible for sponsorship until such time that they have received their qualification and gain the appropriate level of skill and experience to qualify for a visa.
Eligibility for work visas is determined by the Australian Government’s Department of Immigration & Citizenship, not by ARG.
There are a number of criteria that applicants must be able to meet in order to be eligible for an Australian working visa. In general, they are related to, but not limited to, the following:
Other restrictions may apply subject to your occupation category. For example, ARG is only able to sponsor successful applicants for locomotive driver positions if the position is based in a regional location, and not in metropolitan cities, such as Perth.
